Another snippet from my noir-style thriller FREEMAN where Freeman’s starting to investigate George’s dodgy businesses – and upsetting Freeman’s ex-lover Miki.

I could hear both of us panting a little. His saliva was hot in my mouth and his jaw ground against my own. We’d always been well matched in size, and his impatience was another familiar thing I remembered. His knee forced its way between my legs, nudging them farther apart, and his hand moved down swiftly to grab my crotch. His fingers curled around the half-turgid shape of my cock. It was a fierce, greedy touch. The physical memories surfaced in my mind, rich and vivid, and my body shuddered against him. The sound Miki made in the back of his throat was a combination of laughter and demand.

That’s when I punched him, punched him squarely on that handsome, sculpted jaw.

From my noir-style thriller FREEMAN starring the mysterious, close-lipped Freeman who gradually lets the young runaway Kit into his life, bringing danger, disturbance and something much more rewarding.

Someone shouted more loudly, calling for Kid. I watched his mouth tighten, pursed against sudden anger. “Fucking nickname. I’m the new boy, one of the youngest. That’s what they call me.”

“That’s not a name,” I said, without accusation.

He shrugged, looking uncomfortable. “Don’t have a name. You know? Not one I want to use, anyway.”

“Kit,” I said. “That’s a name.”

“Huh?” He frowned at me, confused.

“A name,” I repeated. “Easy to remember. Better than an animal’s name.”

He did the head-tilting again. “That your name or something?” The words were aggressive, but his tone was softened in the night’s damp, steamy air. I looked steadily back at him.

“No,” I said. “It’s just a suggestion for you. A working title.”

From my romantic suspense 72 HOURS where agents Tanner and Niall used to be devoted lovers until they let their personal arguments spill over on a mission, and everything went sour. Tanner’s reminiscing here how they first met.

I may have been an acting coach at work, but no one had ever accused me of being difficult to read when it came to sex, in all its forms. I slid both my arms around his waist and pulled him in even closer, tight against my body. My lips pressed back hard against his and I gasped my willingness into his mouth. I felt his body tighten and the muscles slide against my own, all the way from torso to knee. The door eased open behind us and we half-fell into the hallway, laughing, groaning, still nipping at each other‘s lips.

“Which floor?” he gasped.

“Fifth.”

I‘d never cursed the broken elevator as soundly as I did that night.

From my story DANCING DAYS about a second chance romance between Glen and Aston, who met 20 years ago in their youth but broke apart after betrayal and anguish. They deserve some joy second time around, right? 🙂

“No, that’s enough,” Glen said. “It’s fine like that. Thanks for trimming the beard, too.” He wasn’t very accurate with the clipper on his own behalf.

“No problem. Beards are very fashionable now, aren’t they?”

Glen resisted telling Tina he’d started wearing one in 1995 when he’d been too lazy to shave, and had never changed style since.

“You look very sexy,” Tina said, grinning. “You still have a really strong curl, and the silver streaks are very George Clooney.”

Silver streaks? Glen wouldn’t have counted them as more than half a dozen hairs, but maybe Tina had better eyesight than he did. He glanced at her, suspicious of teasing. “Um. Thanks. You doing anything this weekend?”

Tina’s eyes widened. “Mr Carson. I mean…? Aren’t you…?”

In that moment, Glen wanted to hug her. At the very least, she’d doubled her tip. Her first response hadn’t been, Ewww, I don’t want to date an old bear like you, but Ummm, I thought you were gay and didn’t go for women?

From my Christmas/New Year story NOWHERE TO HIDE starring Dan who’s struggling with a troubled life and his ever-patient boyfriend Aaron.Is this going to be the year Dan welcomes Aaron fully into his heart?

~~~
He frowns: I can see him better than he can see me at the moment. “You don’t need to hide in the dark. To avoid facing me. I hoped you trusted me.”
“Oh, but I do,” I say, quite sharply. “Though I don’t think I’ve made it clear enough. I’ve not made much clear at all, really. There are times, Aaron, when the only thing that I trust is you, and the way I feel about you. And how you feel about me. It’s the only thing that’s felt real to me.” The only thing that’s kept me from huddling in that furthermost corner.
He starts to speak, but bites back the sound. I ignore it, because that’s the only way I’m going to be able to continue.
“But other times, I can see the rest of my life, and really it’s pretty great. I have good friends, a job, and always new things happening, things that I enjoy and things I’m pleased with. Things that I should treasure.” I take a quick breath, trying to slow down. “I know that I have to work on that – to concentrate on that, not the black moods.”
I’m still in a Christmas mood 🙂 so here’s a bit from my Christmas story POP-UPS starring workaholic Jack and laid-back Henry, his friend (with benefits) and unofficial IT help desk. But on his own this Christmas, what’s Jack to do when pop-ups start appearing on his PC?!
~~~

Every man w*ants to h-ave ultimate co+ntrol o.ver hi+s own sexual acti-vity .

I pursed my lips. Good God. My fingers traced an imaginary cursor, filing that one alongside the “your new size tool” one. My current size tool was perfectly okay, thank you very much. As far as I knew, anyway. And the ultimate control issue? Too much information, in my opinion.

A fresh wave of pop-ups appeared, depressing me afresh. I groped on the table to find my cell phone. Henry hadn’t left for the holiday yet, had he?

“Recipes from the stars for the holiday season! Who’s cooking your goose this holiday?”

I grimaced. At the moment, I had no damned idea, did I?

The inspirational and fun Rainbow Snippets group on Facebook invites authors to post 6 sentences of their work each weekend. I’m “negotiating” with Hubby to get the tree down from the loft and start dressing it – so I’m in a Christmas mood :).

From my Christmas story SANTA, ACTUALLY starring Jack and Grady, two hapless extras on an adult movie site, who get into lustful trouble during the making of cheekily-named adult movies. And in this case, Christmas songs!

~~~
He didn’t think the cameras had left Tomasz yet, who was in the middle of a strange, gyrating dance routine that Jack didn’t think had any roots in authentic Eastern European culture, and looked more like Tomasz had got the seam of his thong twisted. Nor did Jack think he or Grady had any lines in this scene. Grady was meant to have read the script again last night, but had preferred to try out a penis enhancer sample, resulting in neither of them spending any time or attention on the next day’s filming. Anyway,
now was the time to make their move.
“I’m keen to be a Little Rimmer Boy,” Grady whispered in his ear.
Jack flushed, banishing any thoughts he’d had of sneaking back to the trailer and finishing his gay romance book. “Well, I’ve never done it up a tree,” he mused. He twisted his legs and kicked himself out of a particularly awkward knot. Free at last!
